Right after reading the Megillah on Purim night, the Marina Roshcha Shul in central Moscow celebrated the completion of a new Sefer Torah. Chief Rabbi of Russia Rabbi Berel Lazar was honored with writing the final letters.

The new Sefer Torah was donated by Mr. Yosef Yitzhak Sandler, a dear friend of the community. Following the siyum and hakafos, the entire community was invited to a seudas mitzvah and farbrengen.

Megillah readings were held from evening until midnight to accommodate everyone who wished to fulfill the mitzva. Students of Chabad yeshivas in Moscow distributed thousands of mishloach manos to residents of the Russian capital.
