Morahs from Crown Heights schools were recently hosted for an elegant evening and dinner to mark the end of the school year. The event, arranged by Igud Hamechanchos, the organization to support and empower Lubavitch morahs, was staged to celebrate their accomplishments and dedication to their unique shlichus.

The teachers, who represent various divisions and schools, socialized and shared their passion for chinuch and love for their students. They discussed their role and responsibilities and the challenges of a post lockdown school year.

A special presentation on the uniqueness of Chinuch Habonos was given by Rabbi Shimon Hellinger of Merkaz Anash and Rabbi Michoel Gourarie of Sydney, Australia. Rabbi Hellinger spoke of the Rebbe’s vision for girls’ education to produce inspired and devout girls, and the kind of learning that brings that result. Rabbi Gourarie spoke of the importance of communicating Yiddishe values and perspectives, as our children are bombarded everywhere with secular values.

The morahs were each gifted a beautiful Pirkei Avos book and they left uplifted and inspired to continue in their holy work of educating another generation of the Rebbe’s daughters.
