Anash.org has learned that Rabbi Yosef Neiman, a victim of the Monsey stabbing attack last Chanuka, has opened his eyes and is partially breathing on his own.

Rabbi Yosef Neiman was stabbed during the Monsey attack this past Chanukah. A few days after the attack his family told the public that “Doctors are not optimistic about his chances to regain consciousness, and if our father does miraculously recover partially, doctors expect that he will have permanent damage to the brain; leaving him partially paralyzed and speech-impaired for the rest of his life.”

Now, eight weeks after the gruesome attack, Neumann is starting to show signs of the miracle his family had hoped for and has opened his eyes. Additionally, he’s regained movement in his left hand, which was sliced through, and is “somewhat tracking.” He’s also partially breathing over his respirator.

There is still a long road ahead with many months of hospitalization not covered by insurance. To help cover the ongoing costs click here.
