The first month at the new Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch in Monticello, New York, was an uplifting and inspiring one for the bochurim and staff, full with davening, learning, mivtzoim and farbrenging.

Highlights of the first moth included a chanukas habayis for the start of the yeshiva, followed by a grand Chai Elul farbrengen for the greater community. Every week before Shabbos, the bochurim headed out to Friday mivtzoim and the daily shmiras ha’sdarim filled the air with the sound of Torah, as bochurim packed in a full day of learning.

Nigleh was taught by Rabbi Berel Polityko and Chassidus and farbrengens were lead by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Karp and Rabbi Bentzion Chanowitz. All together 12 bochurim participated throughout the month, and the bochurim are looking forward to their return after Sukkos.

After an exciting start in the middle of Elul, the bochurim made their way to the Rebbe for Rosh Hashanah.

“The impact on the community has been immeasurable, as the yeshiva now adds to the growth of the Jewish community in Monticello year round” said Rabbi Binyamin Mills, Menahel.

With open spots for bochurim still available, the Mesivta has new hires in hanhala and is excited to announce the addition of an eighth grade mechina program starting after the yomim tovim.
