Melave Malka for Bochurim Supports Gemach For 770 Talmidim

Bochurim in 770 joined a melave malka supporting the free-loan gemach that supports the American talmidim learning in 770.

The bochurim of 770 had a memorable evening as they came together to enjoy a melave malka. The event was held in honor of the gemach that provides free loans to the American bochurim of 770 and has a branch in Israel.

The event was sponsored by Shneur Carlebach, a devoted supporter of the bochurim, who also took the opportunity to address the gathering. As the grandson of Horav Noach Bernstein, who opened a gemach in the past at 770 and with whom the Rebbe wrote out a full check upon hearing about it.

The secretary of the Gemach Leibel Gordon shared a sicha on the the concept of loans, and Sholom Rivkin was honored to share a fascinating chasiddishe story. The event was held now because Reb Yochonon Gordon used to make a Melaveh Malka every year on Motzei Shabbos Parshas Mishpotim, the parsha that includes “Im Kesef Talve.”

Meir Lazaroff spoke how coincidentally Sunday also marked the start of the daily Rambam’s Hilchos Malveh Veloveh, which further emphasized the importance of lending and borrowing within the Jewish community.

A magbis was held to financially support the gemach. The evening was a huge success, and the bochurim left the event with their spirits lifted and their resolve.
