Every year, the Rebbe would give Matonos L’evyonim to support bochurim in need. This year, you too can donate to help distribute clothing and other essentials to bochurim.
Purim morning, the mitzvah of Matonos L’evyonim is on many people’s minds. To whom to give? How to give?
Each year, the Rebbe would call in the Rosh Yeshivah of Tomchei Tmimim, Rabbi Mordechai Mentlik, and give him money as Matonos L’evyonim for Kupas Bochurim; sustaining, clothing and caring for the Bochurim—the Rebbe’s children, “dem Rebbin’s kinder.”
This year, Keren HaTmimim-Chasdei Shimshon, in close coordination with the Hanholos of the yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel, will be working to distribute more than $200,000 worth of goods to the Bochurim— including hats, suits, coats, tzitzis, glasses, shoes and other vital items a Bochur needs.
To that end, Keren HaTmimim must raise close to $250,000 before Pesach, to ensure that our Bochurim are presentable and dignified, as a Tomim should be.
The bulk of the costs have been generously covered by Rabbi Dovid Fischer, however ten of thousands are still needed.
