Make Chai Elul Meaningful for Your Children

‘Morah Raizel’s Reach’ shares some ideas to make Chai Elul a meaningful experience for your kids at home. This initiative includes a raffle for those that send in pictures of their farbrengens at home.

Morah Raizel’s Reach

Tonight and tomorrow is a special day. Chai Elul is the birthday of the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe. They spread Torah and Chassidus to the world. Here are some ways to bring the spirit of this special time into your home and make it exciting for your family:

Set the table beautifully and have a special meal

Display a picture of the Alter Rebbe and/or a Tanya

Share a story and/or Dvar Torah from the Baal Shem Tov and/or the Alter Rebbe

Sing the Niggun “Aimosai Kasi Mar” and discuss how it’s connected to the day

Say L’Chaim! Have grape juice and special cups ready

In preparation of Rosh Hashana, think of a Hachlata you can make

Give Tzedaka together

Answer the question: what makes this year special? Hint: day of the week

Please send pictures of your “Farbrengen at Home” to (860) 777-5374. Include your name and location. Send your entry in before Chof Hey Elul and your family will be entered into a raffle for a $100 gift card to a Judaica store. (10 winners).
