Machon Lemaan Yilmedu is perpetuating the work of Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm l’ilui nishmaso, with the goal being to open more and more programs on many topics in halacha, bringing the study of halacha to as many people as possible.
The learning revolution at Machon Limud Halacha Lemaan Yilmedu continues with registration now open for the new cycle that will begin, G-d willing, in Elul.
Since the Machon was started two years ago by Rabbi Yeshaya Zushe Wilhelm a”h, hundreds of students have joined a serious study of halacha. First and foremost is a course for Semicha – isur v’heter. There are also two additional programs that opened this year, a course to learn Hilchos Shabbos – halacha l’maaseh, and a course to learn Hilchos Chuppa v’Kiddushin.
Rabbi Wilhelm’s vision was to make the study of halacha accessible to everyone, including working men, those with families, to enable them to invest the little free time at their disposal in the evening to learn halacha. This is without compromising on the quality of the learning. To make this possible, he initiated translating the Shulchan Aruch into English, providing written learning aids, and constructing a curriculum that is particularly suited for working men and men with families.
Now, the Machon is perpetuating his work and l’ilui nishmaso, with the goal being to open more and more programs on many topics in halacha, bringing the study of halacha to as many people as possible, within Chabad and outside it.
The hanhala of the Machon is working now on including additional curricula including a course for those who teach chassanim, which will be in conjunction with the Machon Taharas Ha’Bayis, a course for the rav of a shul, a course on shechita, and more.
As mentioned, registration has opened for the three current courses: Semicha – isur v’heter, Semicha – Hilchos Shabbos, and Hilchos Chuppa v’Kiddushin.
