LGHS Chicago Building “Home Away From Home”

Chicago’s Lubavitch Girls’ High School is launching a “Home Away From Home” campaign to support the new Student Center and Residence Hall—a home children will rely on in their formative years to develop into the leaders they will soon become.

LGHS is now launching a “Home Away From Home” campaign to support the new Student Center and Residence Hall—a home children will rely on in their formative years to develop into the leaders they will soon become.

“This campaign gives the community a chance to give back to the families of Chabad who serve others so selflessly. They open their homes to make every Jew feel at home. Now we’re working to build the strong, safe, nurturing home their daughters need and deserve when they go away to school,” said LGHS Dean Rabbi Baruch Hertz. “Learning happens in the classroom, growing happens at home.”

The new 10,000-square-foot center will provide ample, beautified space for all students to thrive as they socialize, connect, and enjoy extra-curricular programming in a warm, cohesive environment. 8 large residential suites will be fully renovated and tailored to give out-of-town students the special feeling of ‘home away from home’ they need to reach their fullest potential.

“This new student center will not only unite in-town and out-of-town students to help them reach even greater heights, but it will add so much to our entire community,” said Professor Dovid Imbo of Chicago, parent of an LGHS alumna.

“My daughter is so excited about the new Student Center and Dorm. The vision, care and work that has gone into this project is unparalleled and yet another example of LGHS’ hallmark of excellence in nurturing the Bnos Chabad of tomorrow,” said LGHS parent Mrs. Yael Trusch of Houston.

The fundraiser begins its 36-hour timer on Tuesday, June 6th at 12:00pm CST with a goal of $500,000.  Thanks to generous matchers, donors have the opportunity to see the impact of their generosity multiplied by contributing to the matching campaign.
