Shluchim from around Long Island gathered this past week for a review of the island’s Chabad activities and to set up plans for future growth and expansions.

The gathering took place over a full day, from 10:00 AM to 7:30 Pm on Thursday, 14 Tammuz, in the Radisson Hotel of Hauppauge. Joining the Long Island shluchim were Rabbi Efraim Mintz and Rabbi Dubi Rabinowitz of JLI.

The meeting, which was convened by Head Shliach Rabbi Tuvia Teldon, aimed to make a complete review of the mosdos in order to plan for growth in the future. With over 50 shluchim operating out of 38 centers across Long Island, the conversation was vital to ensure continued expansion of Chabad activities and deliberate challenges facing the shluchim at the current time.

Shluchim in attendance were Rabbis Leibel Baumgarten, Mendy Goldberg, Levi Gurkov, Sholom Moshe Paltiel, Anchelle Perl, Yanki Saacks and Shais Taub. Mrs. Chaya Teldon represented the shluchos.

“Many issues were discussed, including the nature of the Long Island Vaad Hashluchim which has been in operation for almost 20 years,” Rabbi Teldon told Anash.org. “The discussion was very lively and many of the hachlatas will be presented to the all of the Long Island Shluchim at the annual Kinus Hashluchim on August 1.”

“Thanks to Rabbis Mintz and Rabinowitz for the time and effort they put into making the meeting a great success,” said organizers.
