In a significant legal development, the Federal Appeals Court in Washington is holding a hearing on the return of Chabad seforim currently held in Russia.
For the first time in many years, following extensive efforts, Russia will appear in court, this comes after the imposition of severe economic sanctions by the United Nations and the delegation appointed by the Rebbe for the return of the books, including Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Aharonov, and Rabbi Shalom Ber Levine.
“We don’t want their money, just the books. We will continue to freeze their assets until they release the books,” stated the members of the delegation.
