The first yahrzeit of Rabbi Binyamin Wolff, Shliach to Hanover, Germany, is being marked with the inauguration of a new Chabad Center dedicated in his memory which will bear his name.

Following Rabbi Benny Wolff’s passing last year at the young age of 43, his wife Mrs. Sterni Wolff determined to stay in Hanover along with her eight children, steadfast in their efforts with the Jewish community, and to continue Benny’s life’s work.

Leading dignitaries and government officials have joined the celebrations along with representatives of the local Jewish community, Shluchim from all over Germany, family members from around the world.

During the historic event Rabbi Benny Wolff’s son-in-law, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Gottlieb, was installed as the new Rabbi of Hanover. His appointment was signed by Chief Rabbi David Lau and others.

Family and friends will inscribe the final letters in a new Sefer Torah written in memory of Rabbi Wolff, and in the merit of all Jews of Germany.
