The levaya of Mrs. Sarah Kahanov, the matriarch of a large Lubavitcher family and one of the first organizers of N’shei Chabad, passed by 770 on the way to kevura near the Ohel.
Mrs. Sarah Kahanov, the matriarch of a large Lubavitcher family and one of the first organizers of N’shei Chabad, passed away on Friday, 29 Kislev.
She was 92 years old.
She is survived by her children: Mrs. Chavie Bendet – St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Chana Hayes – Ottawa, Canada, Rabbi Yosef Kahanov – Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Chaya Levin – Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Rivkie Block – San Antonio, TX, Rabbi Dovid Kahanov – Crown Heights, and Rabbi Meir Kahanov – Crown Heights; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother Reb Velvel Rosenblum.
She was predeceased by her husband, Reb Chaim Osher Kahanov.
