Kollel Menachem Lubavitch of Melbourne hosted a series of learning programs in honor of Chof Av, the hilulah of the Rebbe’s father, Harav Levi Yitzchok.
In accordance with the Rebbe’s request to learn his father’s teachings on the day of his Yartzheit, over 100 members of Anash came to learn from a selection of Reb Levik’s teachings and the Rebbe’s Sichos addressing them.
Rosh Hakollel, Rabbi Yonason Johnson delivered a shiur on the Kabbalistic significance of Hakhel, based on a lengthy letter that the Rebbe’s father wrote to the Rebbe and Rebbetzin in Kislev 5792 – a Hakhel year.
In it, the Rebbe’s father explains the Kabbalistic significance of the Mitzvah of Hakhel and shows how it is reflected in the various details and aspects of the Mitzvah and how it is connected to the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s third wedding anniversary.
The teachings of the Rebbe’s father on the Zohar are esoteric and cryptic. The Shiur uses an accompanying visual presentation to illustrate the deep Kabbalistic ideas and make them accessible.
May the zechus of the Baal Hahilulah and the study of his teachings hasten the Geulah and the ultimate Hakhel gathering. קהל גדול ישובו הנה.
