Students at Los Angeles’ Bais Chaya Mushka and Bais Rebbe Junior High united for a Hakhel rally to mark the yahrzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka on Chof Bais Shevat.
As students in a school named for the Rebbetzin, each girl in Bais Chaya Mushka LA and Bais Rebbe Junior High feel an intrinsic and deep connection to her.
The day of Chof Beis Shevat, so meaningful for every Chassid, is particularly powerful in Bais Chaya Mushka LA.
This Hakhel year, with a focus on the theme “Better Together”, Chof Beis Shevat was commentated with a school-wide Hakhel. For one of the first times ever, every girl in grades Pre1A-8th came together in the same room to join in unity and song.
The program began with Torah, Teffilla and Tzedakah, followed by the Rebbetzin Kapital. Followed by Morah Shterni Levy’s Third-grade class performing a song exemplifying והחי יתן אל לבו. The whole school joined in and continued with songs emphasizing the connection to the Rebbe and Rebbetzin as well as the Bais Chaya Mushka school song.
This rally was organized by the Bnos Chabad – Moussia Kulski, Shoshana Posner, Chana Halberstam and Chaya Mellul who work tirelessly for our school.
“We are so honored and privileged to have our school be named after the Rebbetzin and to be raising students who will truly exemplify והחי יתן אל לבו and bring the lessons from her remarkable life into theirs,” organizers said.
