With the tragic news of Rabbi Tzvi Kogan‘s murder, many Jews around the world have been growing Yiddishkeit and mitzvos in his memory. The latest example was set by the Kushner brothers, who donated together $2 million to Chabad of UAE activities in the region.

Jared Kushner expressed how he and his wife Ivanka “are saddened by the loss of Rabbi Kogan, who was senselessly murdered to stop the historic bridges he was building between Jews and Muslims in the UAE,”

Jared Kushner expressed, highlighting the significant contributions Rabbi Kogan made. “The success of his work, in partnership with the bold and positive vision of the Emirati government, has been a shining light in the world and a strong counter to the history of division,” he continued, emphasizing the broader implications of the UAE’s leadership.

Writing about the progress in the UAE, he highlighted the spirit of coexistence prevalent “In the UAE, people of all faiths and backgrounds thrive together in an environment of mutual understanding and respect,” he noted.

“Ivanka and I will be donating \$1 million to the Chabad of UAE and will redouble our efforts to work with the Jewish community and the country’s leadership to build a resilient, vibrant Jewish community in Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” he pledged, calling others to join him. “We welcome others to join us in this effort,” he added.

Turning his focus to the broader challenges faced by the Jewish communities worldwide after the atrocities of October 7th, Jared Kushner condemned the scapegoating of Jews. “The constant scapegoating of Israel and the Jewish people benefits no one, other than inept leaders who use hatred to deflect from their own shortcomings,” he stated firmly. He urged for a better path forward, adding, “It’s time for the world to channel its collective energy to uplift our shared goals and ambitions.”

He also had a message for those who seek to divide. “To all who wish to aggravate these historic divides, know that your efforts only strengthen the resolve of the Jewish community to contribute to societies that respect and welcome us,” Kushner asserted. “History has shown that those who embrace the Jewish people benefit, and those who persecute the Jewish people ultimately face spectacular defeat,” he remarked, citing times in history when Jews lived peacefully, especially during the periods of coexistence under Muslim rule.

In closing, Jared Kushner called for a continuation of Rabbi Kogan’s mission. “Let us come together from all faiths to pick up where Rabbi Kogan left off and bring his work, and the work of those building the UAE into a thriving destination of tolerance, bridge building and mutual benefit, to new heights,” he concluded.

Soon after he made his pledge known, his brother, Joshua, shared his response on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He expressed his intention to support this cause equally with another $1M donation.
