Kollel Yungeleit Taught About Shalom Bayis

Yungeleit learning at Kollel Anash of Crown Heights heard a special shiur from Rabbi Menachem Mendel Glukowsky focusing on having proper respect in marriage. Listen to a recording of the class here.

This week Kollel Anash of Crown Heights had the honor of hosting Rabbi Menachem Mendel Glukowsky, Rov of Rechovot and assistant director of Vaad Rabbonei Chabad of Eretz Yisroel. Aside from his many duties, Rabbi Glukowsky is well-known for his expertise in the areas of Sholom Bayis and Chinuch. He lectures and counsels for hundreds on these topics.

The past Wednesday Rabbi Glukowsky gave a fascinating shiur on the topic of Sholom Bayis for the yungeleit learning at Kollel Anash of Crown Heights. He gave practical advice on how to set up one’s home according to the Torah way. He focused on the importance for respect in marriage and what respect means.

Rabbi Glukowsky started off with a story he had heard from Rabbi Yehuda Yeruslavsky, the Rov of Nachlas Har Chabad.  Rabbi Yeruslavsky was in New York and some yungeleit asked him to give a shiur on Taharas Mishpachah. The shiur took place in 770’s upstairs Zal. During the shiur, the Rebbe came into 770, and on the way to his room, he glanced in the Zal.

After the shiur, the Rebbe’s mazkir Rabbi Leibel Groner came over to Rabbi Yeruslavsky and said the Rebbe wanted to know what the shiur was about. Soon after Rabbi Groner reported back to the Rebbe, the Rebbe sent a message for Rabbi Yeruslavsky, that whenever he gives shiurim on the topic of Taharas Mishpachah, he should also address the topic of Sholom Bayis. The Rebbe also mentioned that on Friday nights after davening, there are yungeleit who stay in Shul longer to schmooze. He said this causes distress for their wives who are waiting for them to come home.

Kollel Anash is located at Congregation Anash on Montgomery St and is under the directorship of Rosh Kollel Rabbi Michoel Lerner. The Kollel was founded and is sponsored by Rabbi Dovid Fischer, Rov of Congregation Anash.
