While on a visit to Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Moshe Schapiro, shliach to Hoboken, New Jersey, was warmly greeted by Knesset Member Hanoch Dov Milwidsky.
Milwidsky, who serves as a Knesset Member for the Likud Party, welcomed Rabbi Schapiro into his official office, and the two spoke for a while.
The Knesset Member later posted about the meeting on his official Facebook page, praising Rabbi Schairo for his work back home and the help he extended to him during his time there.
“I was very pleased to meet Rabbi Moshe, the leader of the Chabad community in Hoboken yesterday. While I lived abroad, he helped me greatly and always emphasized our connection to our homeland, Judaism, and tradition,” he wrote.
“Rabbi Moshe is a wonderful man who always strives to connect with our Am Yisroel. As a society, we need to learn from this and remember that our connection to the Torah, the Land of Israel, and Am Yisroel is one of the most important things we have as a nation. However, first and foremost, for a good future for us and our children, we must strengthen our connection with the Jewish people,” he wrote.
Rabbi Schapiro gifted Milwidsky with a Chitas and a tzedaka pushka for his office and they spoke about his new role in the Knesset.
