In a milestone for the Chabad community in southern Israel, the Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim in Kiryat Gat has officially inaugurated its newly constructed and upgraded dormitory.

The four-story building, located on Eliyahu HaNavi Street near the main yeshiva campus, was designed to provide comfortable, modern accommodations for the many bochurim who come from outside Kiryat Gat to learn at the yeshiva. After years of planning and development, the facility stands as a major enhancement to the physical and spiritual environment of the yeshiva.

The inauguration event was attended by hundreds of people, including current students, alumni, parents, supporters, and public officials. Among the featured speakers were Rabbi Moshe Havlin, head of the yeshiva and Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Gat, and Rabbi Zushe Alperowitz, the yeshiva’s senior mashpia. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Groner and Rabbi Naftali Marinovsky also addressed the crowd.

They were joined by notable guests such as Kiryat Gat Mayor Kfir Suissa, Minister of Housing and Construction Yitzhak Goldknopf and Minister for the Negev and Galilee Yitzhak Wasserlauf, who offered their congratulations and highlighted the yeshiva’s central role in the city.

The project was managed by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Wolf, Rabbi Meir Vazna, and Rabbi Tomer Suissa, whose dedication was acknowledged by speakers and guests.

The event concluded with a spirited farbrengen in honor of Pesach Sheni, led by Rabbi Alperovitch, who stressed the yeshiva’s ongoing mission to raise generations of committed Chassidim, rabbanim, and shluchim.
