Recognizing the tremendous growth of demographic-focused Shlichus and the unique needs of today’s youth, The upcoming Kinus Hashluchos will feature specialized workshops organized by CKids International focused on engaging young families.

As part of the robust line-up of in-depth workshops covering all aspects of Shlichus life, the Kinus will feature two seminars focused entirely on Shluchos who work with youth. The first will focus on generating a stronger family-centric engagement. Followed by a workshop hoping to empower camp directors to create more efficient yet engaging summer experiences.

As the largest network of Hebrew schools and day camps, hundreds of thousands of Jewish kids step foot in a Chabad House every year. But how does one transform the one-time participant into the beginning of a meaningful journey for the entire family? A special workshop for Shluchim by Shluchim is designed to help cultivate family community involvement. Moderated by Mrs. Mushkie Kesselman of Plano, TX and featuring presentations from Mrs. Chaya Rosenfeld of  Vancouver, Canada, and Mrs. Rochel Teldon, of  El Paso, Texas, sharing insight into how to integrate families into their community. Participants will also receive a surprise gift.

Friday morning will feature a unique session for camp directors. The workshop will cover topics such as properly planning year-round for a smooth summer, as well as defining specific roles to avoid mismanagement. The session will be presented by Rabbi Avi Orlow, Vice President of Program and Innovation at Foundation for Jewish Camps, and Genna Singer, Director of JCC Camps and a camp professional with over 20 years of experience. Breakfast will be served at the event.

“Today’s kids are being targeted by all types of toxic distractions and ideas,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302. “We hope that these workshops, along with all the sharing of ideas and inspiration throughout the coming days, can empower us to give the younger generation the clarity and connection to their heritage they so desperately need.”

Engaging the Entire Family will be held on Thursday, 22 Shevat at 4:40 PM at Lubavitch Yeshiva in the Large Hall.

The CGI Director’s Workshop will be on Friday, 23 Shevat, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at 1373 Carroll St. Ground Entrance. Breakfast will be served.
