COMMENTS
Yosifun is quite controversial. Its a hebrew translation of a jewish/roman historian. some will say that Rashi quotes it once, but others hold against. I have heard that when someone asked the Rebbe he answered that there are those for and against it, but those who read it have what to rely on.

הרבה קורין היוסיפון – ונמצא בבית כו”כ. הדעות ע”ד [יוסיפון] ומחברו – הפוכות ומן הקצה אל הקצה. ובכלל: רוב המבקרים החפשים משמיצים אותו ורוב היראים משבחים אותו (ראה צמח דוד, סדה”ד ועוד), ומתרצים מש”כ בשבח הרומאים וכו’ – מפני שהי’ בשבי שלהם וחשוב בעיניהם ורצה לבטל גזירות על היהודים וכיוצא בזה
