Israel’s New Consul General Meets Chabad on Campus

One of Asaf Zamir’s first engagements as Israel’s new Consul General in New York was meeting with Chabad on Campus and learning more about their work in supporting Jewish life on over 750 campuses.

Former Israeli Minister of Tourism, Member of Knesset, and Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv, Asaf Zamir, began his ambassadorship as Israel’s new Consul General in New York a few weeks ago.

One of his first engagements was meeting with Chabad on Campus and learning more about the critical work being done to support the vibrancy and growth of Jewish student life on over 750 campuses.

The Consul General was joined by Chabad on Campus International’s senior leadership team, including Rabbi Yossy Gordon, CEO of Chabad on Campus International and Rabbi Avi Weinstein, COO of Chabad on Campus International, campus Shluchim, and prominent supporters of Chabad on Campus International to address the critical issues of Jewish and Israel Engagement on college campuses.

The consul was extremely impressed by the critical work of the Shluchim and by the extensive resources offered by Chabad on Campus International supporting the Shluchim in their holy work.
