Following the call from the Beis Din of Crown Heights to postpone all trips to the community out of concern for the health of the residents there, Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Eretz Yisroel has issued a similar call, telling anash in Eretz Yisroel not to travel to New York for Gimmel Tammuz due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a letter released Tuesday, the Beis Din, the highest Chabad authority in Eretz Yisroel, wrote: “We received a letter from the Beis Din of Crown Heights, in which the Rabbonim request not to travel to Crown Heights out of concern for the lives of the residents there, and that decision was based on the expertise of the doctors there.
“We are hereby joining the call of the Rabbonim of the Beis Din, and especially after we have consulted with doctors who tell us that the danger is not only to the residents of Crown Heights but to the guests as well. We therefore request that you not travel to Crown Heights in the meantime”.
Yesterday, a group of doctors and Hatzalah coordinators from the Crown Heights community also issued a request that no one visit New York for Gimmel Tammuz, in light of the medical danger it can present to the community.
