‘Imahos U’banos’ Launches 9th Season Across Communities
The beloved Imahos U’banos program has begun its ninth season, welcoming mothers and daughters from Crown Heights and beyond for another year of shared learning and connection. This year, new families are invited to join and take part at one of the many convenient local Imahos U’banos locations.
The beloved Imahos U’banos program has officially kicked off its ninth season, inviting mothers and daughters from Crown Heights and beyond to join for another year of learning and connection.
Founded 8 years ago by the Crown Heights Women’s Circle and made possible through the generosity of the Smetana Family, Imahos U’banos – literally “Mothers and Daughters” – brings together women and girls once a month, from Tishrei through Shavuos, to study Chassidus and connect in a warm, focused environment.
What began with a single location and just a handful of participants has now grown into a multi-city initiative, with sessions running in Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Remsen Village, South Crown Heights, Pomona, and Kingston, PA, with additional chapters in Florida and Pittsburgh.
Each session features prepared study materials tied to the parsha or yoma d’pagra, along with the option for girls to bring their own learning. Mothers and daughters review the texts together, often snuggled close, away from phones and distractions. In fact, phones are collected at the start of each session – with one lucky participant’s phone drawn at the end for a breakfast-for-two prize.
More than just a study group, Imahos U’banos has become a treasured monthly event for hundreds of families. Mothers describe it as their chance to truly bond one-on-one, while daughters eagerly look forward to the calm, joyful atmosphere and special time with their mothers.
Participants who attend at least three of the six monthly sessions are invited to an exclusive end-of-year barbecue celebration, a highlight of the program.
This year’s launch invites new families to join mothers and daughters learning together at a location near you!

A special Thank You Hashem Card was distributed this year in memory of two boys that the Women’s Circle lost.
