The Semichas Chaver Program (SCP), an in-depth halacha program hosted its annual siyum this past week in Florida, Baltimore, and NY. Thousands of misaymim and their families joined the siyumim to celebrate their incredible accomplishment.
The siyum was enhanced with the participation of HaRav Hershel Schachter shlit”a and Rishon L’tzion Rav Shlomo Amar shlit”a that traveled to all those locations for the siyumim.
SCP-Chabad, a branch of SCP, was well-represented in New York, Baltimore, and Florida.
The posek of SCP-Chabad HaRav Gedalia Oberlander shlit”a addressed the siyum in NY. He based his divrei berocha on the Hayom Yom of 4 Cheshvan that studying Torah each day deeply affects the life of a person and his family.
Rabbi Chaim Schapiro the SCP-Chabad Maggid shiur in Morristown took part in a very fascinating panel discussing how to implement the “5th volume of Shulchan Aruch” into a Rov’s rulings.

In Baltimore Rabbi Moshe Slavaticki the SCP-Chabad Maggid shiur addressed the siyum with Divrei Chizuk. Here is a recording of his address.
In Florida Rabbi Yossi Marlow the SCP-Chabad Maggid shiur in Miami was honored along with other prestigious Rabbonim.
What is Semichas Chaver? The Semichas Chaver Program (SCP), was started by Rabbi Elyada Goldwicht to teach in-depth halacha classes to Baaleh Batim and currently boasts over 170 locations, with over 2,500 weekly talmidim. The curriculum is a text-based study of the background and underlying principles of the halacha. It starts with the Gemara and Shulchan Aruch, and follows the chain of halacha all the way to the contemporary Poskim and current issues.
Semichas Chaver Chabad (SCP Chabad) is a branch of SCP founded by Rabbi Betzalel Bassman and Rabbi Avrohom Jacks. They have worked in conjunction with Lubavitcher Rabbonim to adapt the curriculum to follow the opinions of the Alter Rebbe, the Tzemach Tzedek, and contemporary Chabad Poskim. It is currently in over 40 Lubavitcher communities with over 800 weekly participants.
