Hundreds of young kids from several Jewish day camps in Washington State joined on Wednesday for a unity grand trip and celebration in Seattle in honor of the Hakhel Year.
“It’s all about kids coming together and feeling excited to be with more kids their age, Jewish unity and there’s strength in numbers,” said the Head Shliach to the Pacific Northwest Rabbi Sholom Ber Levitin while visiting the event.
The kids, mostly second to sixth graders, are from Camp Gan Israel in Seattle led by Rabbi Yoni and Mushka Levitin, from Camp Gan Izzy of Issaquah led by Rabbi Berry and Nechama Farkash, and Rabbi Shneor and Shaina Matusof and from CGI of Kirkland led by Rabbi Chaim Shaul and Sarale Rivkin.
“My favorite part of the trip was the hundreds of fellow Jewish kids and we enjoyed it simply because we’re all one family,” camper Jason said.
