This past Motzei Shabbos, over 100 Shluchim and Shluchos of the Greater London area joined together for a Hakhel Melave Malka.

The grand event was an initiative of the Lubavitch UK Hanholoh and Anash community project. Rabbis Mendy Korer and Getsel Itzinger organized the event bringing the family of shluchim together in the spirit of Achdus.

The event was a welcome treat after the hard work and tireless effort the vast and expanding community of shluchim and shluchos had invested over Chanukah.

The program was passionately led by MC Rabbi Odom Brandman who introduced the newest Shliach Rabbi Tzvi Birnhack. Rabbi Birnhack shared his first experiences in his new shlichus followed by an address by guest Rabbi Mendy Heber from Williamsburg, Virginia.

The keynote speaker Rabbi Shmuel Lew enthralled the eager listeners going down memory lane with fascinating stories of Shlichus in the early years of the 1960s in London.

After the announcements of three wonderful initiatives for the benefit of the shluchim, a raffle was drawn for two tickets to the Rebbe for Yud Shevat. Winners Bentche Alperowitz and Yitzchok Lew will represent the community shluchim by the Rebbe on the auspicious day.

The extraordinary catering by Reb Simcha Hyams and the musical accompaniment by Mendel Moses made the event one that will be remembered for a long time to come.
