A grassroots campaign to introduce 1000 Jews to the Rebbe’s initiative to learn and educate about Moshiach and Geulah has 550 (and counting) shluchim, shluchos and members of Anash committing to initiate a chavrusah with a segment of The Alef before Gimmel Tammuz.
With just one week left until Gimmel Tammuz, a grand effort has taken root with 1,000 Shluchim, Shluchos, Anash and N’shei Chabad across the world joining a unique hachanah initiative. Inspired by the Rebbe’s most recent mivtza that emphasizes the responsibility of every Jew to prepare themselves and others for the arrival of Moshiach, this campaign will teach people about Moshiach-themed concepts in an accessible way.
“Every Shliach must prepare himself and prepare all the Jews in his locale and city…to be mekabel pnei Moshiach,” the Rebbe stated in the last sichah delivered to the Kinus Hashluchim, in 5752. “Do this by elucidating on the concept of the Moshiach as explained in the Torah shebichsav and the Torah shebaal peh in a way that is acceptable to every one according to their intellect and understanding, especially through the study of matters of Moshiach and Geulah, and in particular in a way of chochmah, binah, and daas.
“And since this is the work of the current time, it is understood that it is incumbent upon every Jew without exception [not just Shluchim]!” (Free translation)
To fulfill this specific hora’ah, The Moshiach Office at Merkos 302 has launched an educational tool called The Alef. This weekly release has already provided ten segments of concise and relevant study lessons, each one being a standalone, Torah-text-based article that covers Moshiach-related topics with an insightful, relatable, and engaging design.
Shluchim and other Moshiach-enthused educators have been using The Alef for two months already. Rabbi Chanoch Wineberg, Shliach in Westville, says that the content has transformed his ability to easily teach about Moshiach. “The format is professional and leads to great discussion. My study partners are always eager for the next installment.”
Over 550 teachers have already committed to this mivtza in advance of Gimmel Tammuz and invite you to join them to reach the goal of 1,000 new chavrusah pairs learning at least one segment of The Alef.
“I learned The Alef with well-educated participants,” says Rabbi Levi Raskin from Cote Luc, Montreal. “They were amazed by the content; they had never heard these concepts before. Our 15-minute get-together turned into an hour.”
