In an effort to further the study of Moshiach topics in all circles, bochur Menachem Mendel Ezagui, the author of an impressive collection of the Rebbe’s explanation on the Rambam’s Hilchos Moshiach, has been meeting with leading rabbonim, sharing with them his sefer and soliciting their support.

Most recently, he met with Harav Yitzchok Dovid Alter, Rosh Kolel of Gerrer chassidim in Bnei Brak and son of the Pnei Menachem of Gur, who was visiting New York. He was accompanied by recognized Crown Heights activist R’ Eli Slavin.

Harav Alter shared with the two how although he never merited to meet the Rebbe in person, he did correspond with the Rebbe. It was during the time when the Lubavitch Kolel in Crown Heights produced a sefer of Marei Mekomos to the Rambam at the Rebbe’s behest, and Harav Alter submitted a list of comments and new sources to the Rebbe. The Rebbe later sent a delegation of chassidim to him to encourage him to continue writing on the Rambam’s sources.

After presenting him with the sefer, they discussed various ideas about the geulah and what the Rebbe had told his father, the Pnei Menachem of Gur, during his yechidus in 5744.

Harav Alter gladly signed on a letter of support for the importance of studying Moshiach topics, and he accepted a sefer to deliver to his brother, Harav Shaul Alter, the Gerrer Rosh Yeshiva.
