While visiting Eretz Yisroel, Chabad photographer Mordechai Lubecki accompanied a group of children to the Biblical Zoo in Yerushalayim, capturing many of the animals, reptiles and birds mentioned in the Torah.

Founded in the 1940’s as an attempt to house all the animals mentioned in the Torah (many no longer indigenous to Israel), the zoo today also features species from every continent.

The zoo covers 62 acres in a lovely valley with green hills, a small lake fed by pools and waterfalls, spacious lawns and shady beauty spots.
