Two people were seriously wounded and four others were moderately wounded in a terror shooting attack near a shopping mall in Ma’aleh Adumim on Tuesday afternoon.

The attack was carried out with an M-16-style rifle. The terrorist reportedly was carrying a backpack containing extra ammunition. He was neutralized by a Border Police officer who was on vacation.

MDA says that three men, aged 28, 29, and 37 are listed in moderate condition. All were taken to hospitals in Jerusalem for treatment.

A shop owner nearby, who witnessed the shooting, said: “I saw the terrorist running with a gun, they took him down. He was dressed in a neon yellow vest, like a municipality worker.”

Israel Police Chief Kobi Shabtai, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Border Police commander Brick Yitzhak were headed to the scene after the attack was reported. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was receiving updates on the situation at the IDF’s Central Command base as he was visiting the base with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi when the attack occurred.
