A groundbreaking new edition of Shimla Chadasha, titled Simla Chadasha HaMeduyak im Leket Bigdei Malchus, has just been published by Rabbi Shalom Dovber Dickshtein, a veteran shochet in the Chabad community of Melbourne, Australia. This edition makes the rulings and teachings of the Rebbeim on the laws of shechita accessible to all.

Simla Chadasha is the authoritative classic on the laws of shechita and bedika, originally published nearly 300 years ago by Rabbi Alexander Sender Shor. Ever since, it has served as the primary halachic source in this field.

This new edition features significant updates and enhancements, both in form and content. The original text was meticulously re-proofed against the first edition, correcting hundreds of printing errors that crept in over time. All marei mekomos cited by the author are accompanied by the relevant quoted text, and the entire sefer was vocalized and divided into daily learning portions.

What truly sets this edition apart is the newly added Leket Bigdei Malchus – a curated collection of rulings from our Rebbeim, drawn from throughout their Torah and presented in the margins wherever their psak differs from the mainstream view.
