An elderly Crown Heights resident lost all her possessions in a fire that destroyed her apartment on Yom Tov, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The fire, which destroyed a first floor apartment at 1650 President St., broke out on Motzei Shabbos, the night of Acharon Shel Pesach. It was discovered by the woman who lived in the apartment after she returned to her apartment to retrieve an item.

The women quickly escaped, alerting the other residents of the building of the fire. Despite the initial chaos, all the buildings residents all managed to escape unharmed.

Firefighters quickly arrived and managed to put out the blaze, but not before the apartment was destroyed, leaving the elderly woman with only the clothes on her back.
