A small group gathered for the ‘hakamas hamatzeiva‘ of Reb Yoel Kahn on Friday, just feet away from the Rebbe‘s Ohel.
The group consisted of relatives of Reb Yoel, alongside a number of individuals who had been close to him. Among them were Rabbi Yossi Paris, Rabbi Yossi Butman, Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook, Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, Hatomim Levi Telsner, Yosef Dabroskin and Moti Fridman.
They gathered in Old Montefiore Cemetery on Friday afternoon, following the conclusion of the shiva, and read the customary chapters of Tehillim and other tefillos said by a hakamas hamatzeiva.
Set earlier that day, the matzeiva cited Reb Yoel’s dedication to the Rebbe and to his Torah, his work recording and transcribing the sichos and ma’amarim, and his decades of teaching Chassidus as a mashpia in 770 and to countless around the world.
