28 years. It’s been so long since we saw the Rebbe; a tremendous helem v’hester. Still, chassidim around the world remain devoted to the Rebbe’s path and committed to the horaos.

At the same time, as time has passed, confusion has crept in regarding the Rebbe’s view in specific issues. While some have intentionally distorted the Rebbe’s words, most are simply unaware of what the Rebbe said and instructed in those areas.

For many chassidim, exposure to the Rebbe’s teachings is restricted to in-depth Torah sichos or carefully curated soundbites, and their knowledge of the Rebbe’s opinion on public and private matters is limited.

As time goes on and changes are made, a new generation struggles to know what is right. At no fault of their own, they come to think that various practices antithetical to what the Rebbe taught is actually the “Lubavitch way.”

In this column, we intend to address common and controversial issues, shedding light on the Rebbe said about them.
