At approximately 11:12 p.m. Wednesday night, a single shot was fired on Kingston between Empire and Lefferts in Crown Heights.

Volunteers from Crown Heights shomrim who were responding to a call a block away heard the shot and moved quickly to the scene. They were able to provide the police with footage of the incident showing a dispute between two African-American men.

The shot was the result of an altercation between the two men and did not involve any Jewish residence.

While the incident is a scary one, Shomrim reassures the community that no Jews were a target in this incident, and reporters that there was a Jewish target are unfounded.
