In keeping with the Rebbe’s desire, Cheder Ohr Menachem of Crown Heights remained in session until Tisha B’av, with all the children learning with a special chayus. On Thursday, they held a graduation ceremony to mark the completion of another successful year.
With much pomp and glamour, the Talmidim of Cheder Ohr Menachem of Crown Heights filed into the grand ballroom of Lubavitch Yeshiva to celebrate the completion of a very unique and successful year.
True to the Rebbe’s Ratzhon, all Melamdim, Talmidim and Hanhala continue learning with Chayus until Tisha B’av. Now, having reached this milestone is a reason to celebrate!
The emcee Rabbi Zalman Goldstein, from the Menahalim of the Cheder, opened the event by introducing a special Maor segment on inyonei beis habechira produced especially for Ohr Menachem’s Chagigas Siyum. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Scharf, Menahel of the Mesivta YTTL Queens, was invited to read the Rebbe’s letter addressing the Talmidim.
Rabbi Yossi Overlander, Vice Principal, called up the leading talmidim in Mishnayos Baal Peh (MBP) to lead the crowd of parents and students in the 12 Pesukim U’maamorei Razal chosen by the Rebbe. He thanked Rabbi Avrohom Rainitz and Rabbi Chanoch Hecht for preparing such a successful MBP program.
All arose to greet Rabbi Yosef Braun – Mara D’asra and member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, and participants were then fortunate to receive Birkas Habadatz by the Rav. The Menahel Hamosdos Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel led the participants in reciting the Rebbe’s kapitel and praised the TBP program through which every talmid concluding Cheder, will know 12 Prokim Tanya.
Now to a very special part of the event: Every class has their unique production, every boy has his chance to shine. The Menahel, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yusewitz called upon the Kita Daled led by their Melamed Rabbi Dovber Bryski to show their achievements in Tanya Baal Peh (TBP). Parents were mesmerized watching Talmidim exclaim entire Perek Hey of Tanya.
Next was the Ohr Menahchem Choir – of Talmidei Kita Hey led by Rabbi Shneor Rachamim who beautifully presented in song and props “what will be when Moshiach will come?” following a long round of applause. Talmidim of Kita Vov took to the stage with their Melamed Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Belinow to present a “Hiskashrus Farbrengen”. Each boy shared a story or vort.
Next were Talmidim in Kita Zayen who prepared a full on video production depicting “How Tefillin are prepared?” with amazing footage of the stages in producing Klaf, Batim, Parshiyos and all!
Rabbi Overlander then presented Rabbi Yusewitz with a special gift from all the Melamdim and staff, the event concluded with Rabbi Hecht giving out many seforim to all talmidim based on their achivements in Mishnayos Baal Peh – which as noted, is the cause of Kibutz Galuyos. May it be Now!
