Chief Rabbi of Israel Dovid Lau met last night with students and staff members of Tomchei Temimim 770, where he engaged in a lengthy Torah discussion with the students.

The meeting was joined by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Shneur Zalman Labkowski and mashpia Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi and several other hanhala members.

The meeting, which was held in the home of R’ Meir Bukchin, was also joined by the hanhala of Igud Talmidei Hakevutzah program.

During the meeting, the rabbis discussed several rulings of the Alter Rebbe in Shulchan Aruch, as well as various directives of the Rebbe to the late Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu. They also discussed the Rebbe’s instructions to Rabbonm and Poskim to rule that according to the halacha Moshiach must come already.

Yeshiva students presented the chief rabbi with 4 seforim containing Torah thoughts written by the students of the Yeshiva, as well as a sefer of pilpulim of rabbis in Israel published in honor of Yud Alef Nissan. A lively discussion arose regarding the pilpul written by the chief rabbi himself, dealing with the laws of yuchsin.
