Students of Cheder Chabad of Monsey gathered to celebrate the Siyum HaRambam, marking the completion of the 44th cycle of learning Rambam’s teachings, be it Mishneh Torah, or for the younger grades, Sefer Hamitzvos.

The Siyum opened with the boys from Kitah Alef singing the Rebbes Kapitel. The event was uplifting, graced by the presence of the Mara D’asra of the Monsey Anash Kehilla, Rabbi Lesches, who reminded the Talmidim how important the Takana of Rambam was to the Rebbe. All assembled were then addressed by Rabbi Brawer, Director of the Cheder, Rabbi Kaplan, Menahel, and Rabbi Itkin, principal of the Mechina program.

The Rebbe established the Takana of Rambam- for every Jew to learn Rambam daily, seeing it as a way to unite the entire Klal Yisroel through Torah. The boys, young and old, were inspired to strengthen their commitment, whether by learning Sefer HaMitzvos, Perek Echad, or Shlosha Perakim each day.

As always, a Siyum is not just about finishing a cycle of learning—it is about starting again with new energy. To this extent there were two Siyumim made: Siyum on Sefer Hamitzvos by Sholom Lasker and a Siyum on Rambam by Levik Liberow, followed immediately by the Haschala of the first Sefer by Menachem Weinstein, who recently celebrated his Bar Mitzvah and was now starting the Machzor of Rambam for the first time as a man.

The students left feeling motivated to continue their study of Rambam and bring the Rebbe’s Takana into their daily lives.
