A modest celebration was held Sunday in a small corner of 770, celebrating an enormous achievement; the completion of the entire Likkutei Sichos, after 5 years of intense study.
The siyum was celebrated by bochurim Levi Yitzchok Teitelbaum and Yosef Yitzchak Ezagui, who over the span of five years, were able to complete all 39 volumes of Likkutei Sichos.
The pair first began studying Likkutei Sichos together when they were both still students in mesivta at Yeshivas Lubavitch Cincinnati. The partnership continued even after they graduated mesivta and moved on together to Yeshiva Gedolah in Tzfas.
The modest celebration perhaps belied the great achievements being marked. The hope of the mesayemim, however, is that such events should indeed become ordinary, as more and more Chassidim begin to set themselves a study regiment and a Siyum on Likkutei Sichos will become a commonplace event.
