On Monday morning, security forces discovered and safely detonated a car bomb placed at the entrance to the settlement of Ateret, where more than three buses full of children passed by the rigged car on the way to school.
On Monday morning, security forces safely neutralized a car bomb found at the entrance to the frum settlement of Ateret in the Binyamin region. The footage shows the power of the blast, which could have resulted in a disaster.
A patrol and a military unit on a routine inspection identified the suspicious vehicle and secured the area. The unit could not identify the contents of the vehicle due to its tinted windows. Bomb disposal experts from the Border Police of Judea and Samaria arrived at the scene, determined the vehicle was rigged with explosives, and proceeded to neutralize it. Inside the vehicle, they found a gas canister covered with a bag and equipped with an electronic detonator.
According to Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio), more than three buses full of children on their way to school passed by the booby-trapped car. The car was first noticed at 4:30 am, but the road remained open until 7:30 am.
Yisrael Gantz, head of the Benjamin Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council, stated: “A great miracle occurred this morning in Benjamin. Terror in Judea and Samaria requires military action just like in Gaza and Rafah. We must mobilize the population and destroy the terror neighborhoods and infrastructure completely.”
Shai Alon, head of the Beit El Council, responded to the incident: “This is the third car bomb we’ve seen in just three days. We need to recognize that the threat of explosives and attacks is more pressing than ever. Operation ‘Summer Camps’ cannot be limited to specific hotspots—it must expand throughout Judea and Samaria.”
Alon continued: “We must surprise our enemies and change the equation, by proactively entering all Palestinian cities in Judea and Samaria, encircling them, deploying large forces, and conducting a thorough cleansing of any threats to the residents of the State of Israel. If we do not wake up to the threat, we will regret it in rivers of blood of our loved ones.”
Following the discovery of the bomb near Ateret, bomb disposal experts from the Border Police of Judea and Samaria cleared the vehicle and found a large explosive device concealed in the back seat. The bomb squad removed the device, moved it to a secure area, and neutralized it with a controlled explosion.
