This week, the first Camp Gan Yisroel of the summer season in the USA opened in Alaska, under the leadership of shluchim Rabbi Levi and Mushky Glitsenshtein. The camp is renowned for its successful activities that have brought the light and warmth of Yiddishkeit to the children of Alaska for over 33 years, led by shluchim Rabbi Yoske and Esty Greenberg.

The camp also hosts children from the Chabad House in Mat-Su Valley, Alaska, directed by shluchim Rabbi Mendy and Chaya Greenberg. The camp is part of the special efforts to spread Yiddishkeit and the wellsprings of Chassidus during the tourist season in Alaska, including numerous teenagers from prestigious summer camps across the USA as well as yeshiva students.

Thirty-three years ago, in 5751, the camp in Alaska received a response from the Rebbe upon informing him of the camp opening on 12 Tammuz and requesting his bracha for success. The Rebbe replied on Motzaei Shabbos Chukas, 10 Tammuz 5751, with the following:

״נת׳ ות״ח
ותהא פעולה נמשכת
ובהוספה
והזמ״ג, כנתינת כח
דחז״ל וברכתם דכל
המוסיף מוסיפין לו,
ובמיוחד ברכתו דהקב״ה
שתוספות מרובה כו׳.
