Following the end of the South American summer vacation, Buenos Aires hosted the national Siyum HaRambam, drawing leading Rabbonim from across Argentina. The event coincided with the yahrtzeit of Rabbi Berel Baumgarten AH, the Rebbe’s first shliach to the country.

The celebration brought together Roshei Yeshivos and Rabbonim from distinguished communities throughout the nation. Each speaker highlighted the uniqueness of the Rebbe’s initiative in encouraging daily Rambam study, which continues to unite Yidden around the world through Torah.

By Hashgacha Pratis, the Siyum took place near the yahrtzeit of Rabbi Baumgarten, whose pioneering work as the Rebbe’s first shliach in Argentina left a lasting impact. Many speakers, some of whom personally knew and worked alongside him, reflected on his dedication and vision.

Arriving in the 1950s, Rabbi Baumgarten’s tireless efforts through the 1960s and 1970s laid the groundwork for the vibrant Jewish and Chabad presence in Argentina today.

The evening included music and singing by renowned performers and served as both a celebration of the Rebbe’s enduring takkanah and a tribute to Rabbi Baumgarten’s remarkable legacy, inspiring the next generation to continue his work.
