Bochurim Visit Kever of Rebbe’s Uncle on His Yahrzeit

Students from Toras Emes Yeshiva in Yerushalayim visited the kever of Harav Sholom Shlomo Schneerson, to learn mishnayos and recited kaddish on the day of his yahrzeit.

Today, 7 Shevat, marks the 98th yahrzeit of Harav Sholom Shlomo Schneerson, the younger brother of Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, and uncle of the Rebbe.

Harav Sholom Shlomo Schneerson ws born to his parents Harav Boruch Schneur and Zelda Rochel Schneerson. He served as the rabbi in the small settlement of Shyroka in the Kherson region. A position he held until the Bolshevik revolution.

In the year 5685, together with his father-in-law the renowned chossid Harav Dovid Hirsh Chein (RaDaTZ), he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and settled in Yerushalayim. One year later, he tragically passed away at the young age of 43. He was buried in the Chabad section on Har Hazeisim.

He was survived by an only daughter, Mrs. Zelda Mishkowski (Schneerson). When Har Hazeisim was returned to Jewish hands, his kever was located, and the Rebbe asked Mrs. Zelda to see to the re-establishment of the tombstone and even asked to participate in the expenses.

Today, a delegation of students from Toras Emes Yeshiva in Yerushalayim visited his kever learn mishnayos and recite kaddish. The visit was coordinated by Rabbi Mendel Tzikashvili.
