Bochurim from the Mir Are Yearning to Learn Chassidus

Founded on Gimmel Tammuz 5780, Maayan Menachem has blossomed into a beacon of Chassidic learning and connection for American bochurim and yungeleit spending the year in Eretz Yisroel. Inspired by the Rebbe’s call to spread the wellsprings of Chassidus without distinction between background and community, Maayan Menachem embarked on a mission that has significantly impacted the Chassidic landscape.

In its inaugural summer, Maayan Menachem, under the guidance of veteran Shliach Rabbi Nosson Gurari, organized a groundbreaking camp in Ellenville, NY. Over 20 Bachurim from Lakewood, Monsey, Boro Park, and Williamsburg came together for a unique camp experience focused on serious learning of Chassidus. Mashpi’im like Rabbi Nosson Gurari, Rabbi Gedalya Oberlander, Rabbi Mendel Levin, and others joined, leaving both bachurim and mashpi’im amazed at the program’s success. The summer culminated in a farbrengen at the Rebbe’s Ohel. As the Israeli border remained closed to foreign students due to Covid-19, Maayan Menachem quickly adapted to the circumstances, establishing an Elul Yeshiva in Lakewood. For the first time, a Yeshiva in Lakewood hosted a program with daily Sidrei Chassidus, Mashpi’im, and Farbrengens.

As the summer of 5782 approached, Maayan Menachem’s momentum surged. With a larger summer framework, the organization hosted over 40 Bochurim in a camp program spanning from Mitzpe Ramon to Kfar Chabad. Maspi’im such as Rabbi Mendel Vechter, Rabbi Zalman Garelik, Rabbi Zalman Gopin, and others actively participated, contributing to the success of the program. In the winter the Night Kollel grew, reaching an unprecedented 50 bochurim weekly. Under the leadership of Rabbi Betzalel Kleinman and guidance from Rabbi Zalman Gopin and Rabbi Chaim Sholom Deitch, Maayan Menachem thrived with steady shiurim, Farbrengens, and Shabbosim.

In this remarkable year of growth and expansion, Maayan Menachem has surged to new heights. The introduction of a nightly Chassidus Kollel stands. Recently, we B”H were able to rent a new location right next to the Mir Yeshiva on Rechov Yoel 3, positioning Maayan Menachem at the heart of the American/European bochurim vibrancy. The acquisition of a comprehensive library of sifrei Chassidus. Farbrengens on Yoma Depagra, Shabbosim spent together, and an annual Shabbaton have become integral elements of the Maayan Menachem experience, fostering a sense of unity within the Bocharim. Notably, a significant number of participants have chosen to extend their Chassidus journey by joining the affiliate camp, Gan Yisroel L’Bnei Hayishivos in Kfar Chabad, where they immerse themselves in a full-fledged Chassidic experience from Early Morning Seder Chassidus till a Chassidishe Kriyas Shema and everything in between.

Fast forward to the present day, Maayan Menachem has become the Chassidishe family for every American living in Yerushalayim. Farbrengens and Shiurim cater to Yungerleit, their wives, and the good old Bochurim. Multiple learning programs, Shabbosim, and Farbrengens make Maayan Menachem the go-to destination for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the world of Chassidus.

However, the journey is far from complete. Hundreds of American families and Bochurim in Yerushalayim are eagerly waiting for Maayan Menachem to reach them. The responsibility lies with you!
