Bochurim Describe Summer Program as ‘Gan Eden’

Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto, headed by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Akiva Wagner, are enjoying an amazing summer in their beautiful lakefront campus in Star Lake, NY.

The bochurim from Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto are enjoying an amazing summer in their new campus in Star Lake, NY.

40 bochurim, the bulk from the yeshiva in Toronto, as well as a few bochurim from other yeshivos who joined them, together with shluchim and staff, are experiencing an awesome summer both begashmyus and beruchniyus.

“We keep hearing from the bochurim how happy they are on the grounds, on the lakefront of Star Lake,” staff told Anash.org. “They feel that are in a ‘Gan Eden’ on this world.”

The talmidim heard shiurim from the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Akiva Wagner, from Rabbi Shmary Labkowski and Rabbi Mendy Kaminker, and shiurim in Chassidus from Rabbi Mendel Lieberman, and shluchim Shmuel Yosef Greenbaum and Nosson Stolik.

The Rosh Yeshiva of 770, Hagaon hachosid Rabbi Zalman Labkowski also spent some time on the grounds, and the talmidim were privileged to hear shiurim from him in both gemoro and halocho.

Between the various farbrengens, the programs run by the dedicated menahel Rabbi Chaim Simpson, and the delicious food prepared expertly by Nachman Perl, the bochurim all feel that everything exceeded their expectations.

  1. I lived in Star Lake for many years and know many people in the local community. It really is a Gan Eden. I taught science in their high school. There are many great places to hike and see in the greater Star Lake area.

I grew up Orthodox in Binghamton, NY and now live in the greater Los Angeles area and regularly attend Chabad services with Rabbi Yossi Spritzer in Chatsworth, CA. My family in Detroit is very involved with Chabad.

I would love visiting Star Lake next summer and joining for a Farbrengen or two! Also would be good to introduce management to many of the local people in the community.
