Mayor de Blasio Comforts Hecht Family

Former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, who shared a close relationship with a number of members of the Hecht family, paid a condolence visit to the family, who are sitting shiva after the passing of their mother Rebbetzin Chave Hecht.

Former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio paid a condolence visit on Wednesday to the Hecht family, who are sitting shiva after the passing of their mother Rebbetzin Chave Hecht.  

In his role as mayor of NYC for eight years, he developed a close relationship with a number of members of the Hecht family, primarily Rabbi Shimon Hecht of Chabad of Park Slope, where the former mayor lives.

On his Wednesday condolence visit, de Blasio sat for nearly 15 minutes, listening to the Hechts recounting memories of their mother, and sharing a number of light-hearted moments as well.

The hecht family is sitting Shiva at 1342 Carroll St.

Minyanim times:
Shacharis: 7 AM, 7:30 AM, 8 AM, 9 AM

Mincha: 2 PM, 5 PM

Maariv: From 6 PM. 5 minyanim needed
