Harav Avrohom Osdoba and Harav Yosef Braun of the Crown Heights Beis Din, reiterated their stance on Tuesday on dealing with the pandemic, in light of the dramatic increase in local Covid cases.
“We have stated many times,” the rabbonim wrote in a letter to the community, “that in addition to the requirement to follow doctors’ instructions, we need to strengthen ourselves in Torah, tefilla and specifically tzedaka.”
Extra kavana should be had when saying brochos, the rabbonim instructed, and tzedaka should be given multiple times a day. Additionally, one who has not had his tefillin and mezuzos checked within the last year should do so. A letter from 5748 was referenced, in which the Rebbe wrote to Rabbi Osdoba with this instruction.
The Beis Din has requested numerous times for the public to increase in tehillim and recite it as it is divided for the week, in addition to saying kapitel 119 which provides a person with tremendous protection.
