In a video circulating on social media, a baby boy was named after the famous chossid of the Alter Rebbe, Reb Shmuel Munkes.
Reb Shmuel was named after his father who passed away before he was born. He is famously known as Reb Shmuel Munkes, though it is uncertain what is the meaning of the name “Munkes” and whether it’s a surname or a nickname.
