The 15-month-old toddler who was hospitalized in serious condition after contracting the coronavirus was transferred out of the COVID-19 intensive care unit and into a regular hospital ward on Monday.

As reported on Anash.org, the toddler, born to a Chabad family in Tzfas after 17 years of marriage, was rushed to Sieff Hospital in Tzfas 10 days ago, after being infected in Corona.

On Monday, Ayala was removed from the ECMO machine and was transferred from the COVID-19 intensive care unit to a regular ward.

Before her condition turn for the better, Ayala’s mother Chana spoke to Kikar H’Shabbat, “We turned over the world to become parents and finally, b’chasdei Hashem, Ayala was born 15 months ago.”

“At first we began not feeling well,” the mother said. “We were tested, and they all came out positive. My husband, me, and Ayala. But while my husband Yitzhak and I only had light symptoms, Ayala’s condition suddenly deteriorated.”

Ayala’s condition began to deteriorate rapidly even though she has no underlying illnesses. Her parents immediately brought her to the hospital but her condition continued to worsen. Eventually, the doctors managed to stabilize her but she remained sedated.

After Ayala’s condition improved and she was removed from the ECMO machine and transferred to a regular ward, Kikar Hashabbat caught up with Ayala’s mother again.

“I feel reborn,” the mother said. “I thank Hashem for the great kindness He has done with us, and for the amazing medical staff who treated her with dedication. And thank you also to all the people who davened for Ayala’s recovery.”
